Vol. 474 No. 5

Written Answers. - Publication of Reports.

Liam Aylward

Question:

26 Mr. Aylward asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs the plans, if any, he has to publish regular country reports on states across the globe in order to aid the dissemination of information to interested groups; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3219/97]

It is not the normal practice of the EU or its member states to publish regular reports on individual third countries.

Ireland is also precluded by resource constraints and the limited size of its mission network from publishing such reports. Information is, however, provided in response to specific inquiries from individual members of the public and interested organisations.
