53 Mr. Ellis asked the Taoiseach his reason for using the Government jet on Wednesday, 5 February 1997; if the trip was on Government business; if his use of the jet disrupted any Government business; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4025/97]
I travelled to Shannon on 5 February by Government jet for the purpose of meeting the Russian Prime Minister, Mr. Victor Chernomyrdin. I gave a full account of this meeting in reply to questions in the House yesterday.
Following the conclusion of the meeting, I returned immediately to Dublin on the jet.
