Vol. 475 No. 1

Written Answers. - Vehicle Registration Tax.

Eamon Walsh

Question:

96 Mr. E. Walsh asked the Minister for Finance if he will introduce a subsidy for vehicle registration tax to enable taxi drivers to bring in wheelchair adapted cars from the United Kingdom; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4462/97]

I have no plans to introduce a provision which would reduce the vehicle registration tax on cars or other vehicles which are adapted for use as taxis and which accommodate wheelchairs but I will have the proposal examined without commitment.
