Vol. 475 No. 1

Written Answers. - Tax Incentives.

John Ellis

Question:

97 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Finance the efforts and negotiations, if any, which have taken place in his Department in relation to the declaration of County Leitrim as a tax-designated area for tourism projects. [4167/97]

John Ellis

Question:

99 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Finance if he will make provision in the Finance Bill for the inclusion of County Leitrim as a tax designated area. [4180/97]

I propose to answer Questions Nos. 97 and 99 together.

There has been no instance of designating a whole county for any tax incentive purposes and I do not propose to create a precedent in this area.
