Written Answers. - Hospice Funding.

Batt O'Keeffe

Question:

140 Mr. B. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Health if he intends to increase substantially the level of funding to Marymount Hospice, Cork in 1997. [2415/97]

Limerick East): I am pleased to inform the Deputy that I was able, in December 1996, to notify St. Patrick's Hospital-Marymount Hospice of an increased financial allocation of £100,000 for 1996 which would be repeated in 1997 and beyond. In 1997 I was able to provide a further £200,000 towards the funding of St. Patrick's-Marymount.
