Vol. 475 No. 1

Written Answers. - Wildlife Act, 1976.

Noel Dempsey

Question:

156 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht if he consulted with the Irish Council Against Blood Sports (ICABS) in relation to the proposed amendments to the Wildlife Act, 1976; if so, the number of times he held such consultations; the dates on which he held such consultations; if he did not consult with ICABS personally, whether officials from his Department or persons authorised by him have met with ICABS to discuss this subject; if so, when; and the names of those so authorised. [4199/97]

I received a submission on amendments to the Wildlife Act, 1976 from the ICABS (Irish Council Against Blood Sports) in August 1993. I subsequently met a deputation from the organisation on 24 October 1995 and discussed proposed amendments to the Act as well as other wildlife matters.
