Vol. 475 No. 1

Written Answers. - Crime Levels.

Tony Gregory

Question:

230 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice the number of break-ins recorded at a senior citizens complex (details supplied) in Dublin 1; and the number of people charged and imprisoned for such break-ins in the past two years. [4168/97]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that in 1995 no burglaries were recorded in the complex but that in 1996 a small number of burglaries were recorded, the majority of which have been detected. Three persons have been charged with these offences. One of these persons is currently remanded in custody and the other two persons are on bail.

There are currently two community gardaí assigned to the area, with specific responsibility for the location mentioned by the Deputy.
