Vol. 475 No. 1

Written Answers. - Rural Environment Protection Scheme.

Tony Killeen

Question:

259 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the plans, if any, he has to integrate all agri-environmental schemes as is proposed by an all-party group in Britain. [4141/97]

The agri-environmental schemes operated by my Department are the rural environment protection scheme provided for under regulation 2078/92 and the environmentally sensitive areas (ESA) scheme provided for under regulation 2328/91. The ESA scheme was subsumed into REPS upon the introduction of REPS in 1994.

REPS is an integrated, national scheme available to all farmers.
