Vol. 475 No. 1

Written Answers. - Television Reception.

Peter Barry

Question:

286 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the proposals, if any, which were contemplated to safeguard the future television coverage for terrestrial stations of major sporting events here without the viewer having to pay an additional fee for viewing; and if he will make a statement on any proposals that would guarantee rights for licence holders here. [4393/97]

I have no statutory responsibility in this matter. It is a function for my colleague the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht.
