Written Answers. - Petrol and Diesel Prices.
National average retail prices for leaded petrol, unleaded petrol and auto diesel are available from the compilation of the consumer price index (CPI). Hitherto, the CPI has been compiled in respect of mid-February, mid-May, mid-August and mid-November each year. It is being compiled on a monthly basis from January 1997 onwards.
The national average prices per litre for mid-November 1995, mid-February and mid-November 1996 were:
