Vol. 475 No. 5

Written Answers - Schools Refurbishment.

Ivor Callely

Question:

153 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Education the procedure for Scoil Íde and Scoil Fhuirse, Cromcastle Green, Coolock, Dublin 5, to avail of the approved moneys for a replacement heating system and windows in the schools; and if she will make available a special financial allocation to the schools to permit a temporary heating system or alternative system to be put in place pending the replacement system. [5254/97]

The school management has been authorised to engage a consulting engineer to deal with the replacement of the heating systems at Scoil Íde and Scoil Fhuirse. The consulting engineer will liaise with the school management on the planning and execution of the project. Grant-aid totalling 95 per cent of the total cost of the project will be paid by the Department based on certification of the work by the engineer.

There are no plans for installation of temporary heating systems or replacement of the windows at the school.
