Vol. 475 No. 5

Written Answers - Schools Building Projects.

Mildred Fox

Question:

161 Ms M. Fox asked the Minister for Education the current sitution regarding the provision of a second-level school for the Kilcoole area of County Wicklow; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [5353/97]

As I informed the Deputy in my replies to Questions Nos. 70 and 216 on 26 November, and 5 December 1996, respectively, the planning section of my Department has commenced a major review of post-primary school needs for the general area from Bray to Wicklow town.

The review has taken somewhat longer than expected to complete due to the large area to be examined and the amount of detailed information required to come to an informed position in the matter. It is expected that the review will be completed shortly and, when the report is submitted to me, I will be in a position to come to a decision in the matter.
