Question:170 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Justice if she will give details of any agreements reached between Esat Digifone and the Garda Síochána; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [5278/97]

The Government has approved the proposal that Esat Digifone be permitted to co-locate mobile telephony equipment on Garda radio sites and masts subject to the finalising of an agreement which will take account of all legal planning requirements as appropriate. Work on finalising the agreement is nearing completion.
