197 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Defence if a decision is imminent regarding the location of the battalion headquarters at James Stephens Barracks, Kilkenny, following his recent visit to these barracks; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5260/97]

As I indicated on my recent visit to James Stephens Barracks, Kilkenny, I have received no proposals to date from the military authorities regarding the amalgamation of the 3rd and 30th Infantry Battalions.
