I propose to take Questions Nos. 12, 16, 20, 28, 39, 41, 57, 61, 71 and 79 together.
A total of £795,000 was provided in 1995 through the Higher Education Authority towards acquisition costs and initial development works for the development of the Good Shepherd Convent.
Consultations have been ongoing between the Higher Education Authority and University College Cork with regard to finalising proposals for the proposed development of the Convent. The Higher Education Authority has indicated these are due to be received from the college very shortly. They will then be considered by the authority which has a statutory responsibility for advising me on capital investment in the university sector.
As soon as the final proposals are received in my Department from the authority they will be considered in the normal way in the context of other priorities and overall resource constraints.
