Michael Ring

Question:

105 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health the reason it took two years for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo to be called for an orthodontic appointment and then told it would be a further year before treatment actually starts. [5342/97]

Limerick East): I propose to take Questions Nos. 104 and 105 together.

As the provision of orthodontic treatment to eligible persons in County Mayo is the statutory responsibility of the Western Health Board I have asked the chief executive officer of the Western Health Board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
