Vol. 475 No. 6

Written Answers. - Teachers' Travelling Expenses.

Mary Coughlan

Question:

120 Miss Coughlan asked the Minister for Education the reason travelling expenses are not paid to teachers participating in the Breaking the Cycle scheme in order to carry out home visits; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [5505/97]

All teachers who have been appointed to act as co-ordinators under the Breaking the Cycle initiative are entitled to claim travelling expenses in respect of legitimate costs incurred in the course of their work, including costs related to home visits.

The funding allocation to the scheme made provision for such costs.
