Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Seán Ryan — the effects of the phasing out of duty free in 1999 and the need for the Government to reactivate this issue within the EU; (2) Deputy Kirk — that the decision to disband the town of Drogheda vocational educational committee be rescinded and the status quo retained; (3) Deputy Shatter — the court rules, procedures and facilities applicable to the institution and determination of divorce cases as and from 27 February 1997; (4) Deputy Hugh Byrne — the urgent need for remedial action in view of the coastal erosion at Cullenstown, County Wexford; (5) Deputy Ó Cuív — the need to ensure that alternative training and employment is obtained for the workers who were laid off recently from the Farah plant in Galway and that a special task force be set up to oversee this work; (6) Deputy Dermot Ahern — the disbandment of the town of Drogheda vocational education committee; (7) Deputy Nealon — the effect on the rural renewal pilot scheme being run by the Department of the Taoiseach in the Geevagh area of County Sligo of the decision of An Post to close Geevagh sub post office next Monday, 3 March 1997; (8) Deputy Martin — the need to provide emergency funding to St. Mary's special school in Rochestown, Cork, to ensure the provision of a proper heating system; (9) Deputy Joe Walsh — the alarming increase in the incidence of brucellosis; (10) Deputy Lynch — the urgent need to appoint a second State Pathologist, based in Cork, to cover the Munster region; (11) Deputies O'Donoghue and Batt O'Keeffe — the need to ensure the appointment of an assistant State Pathologist in the southern region in view of serious delays in carrying out post mortems on victims of violent death outside the greater Dublin region; (12) Deputy Keogh — the current regulations for private third level colleges in the light of yesterday's events at a private college in Merrion Square, Dublin.

The matters raised by Deputies Dermot Ahern, Keogh, Shatter, O'Donoghue and Batt O'Keeffe have been selected for discussion.
