Vol. 475 No. 8

Written Answers. - Second Level Schools.

Eamon Walsh

Question:

138 Mr. E. Walsh asked the Minister for Education if she will agree to the provision of a second level school for the Kingswood and Kilnamanagh area of Dublin 24; if provisions will be made for this project in the 1998-99 academic year; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [6094/97]

I refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 97 on Wednesday, 12 February 1997, in which I indicated that the question of the need for a postprimary school to serve the Kingswood Heights and Kilnamanagh areas of Dublin 24 is under consideration at present and a decision will be taken in the matter as soon as possible.

The inclusion of a project in a building programme cannot be considered until such time as a decision is taken on the need for a school.
