John O'Donoghue

Question:

198 Mr. O'Donoghue asked the Minister for Justice the number of cases and the type of each case in which a judge of the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court certified that a breach of recognisance had taken place when issuing a bench warrant in 1996. [6320/97]

A total of 185 bench warrants were issued by the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court in 1996. However, the information requested regarding the number of cases and the type of each case in which a judge of that court certified that a breach of recognisance had taken place when issuing a bench warrant is not readily available. This information is being compiled and will be forwarded to the Deputy as soon as it becomes available.
