246 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when the second instalment of a REP scheme payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6168/97]

The REP scheme includes provision for compliance checks prior to the making of second year payments. A compliance check was carried out on the applicant's farm. A serious problem was uncovered as a result of this check. When this has been resolved the applicant will be informed of the outcome.

247 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will have arrangements made to have payment of the REP scheme made to a person (details supplied) in County Cork. [6170/97]

The application for payment for the person concerned is being processed at present and payment will issue shortly.
