277 Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications whether he has received an application from a company (details supplied) to operate tour buses in Galway city in 1997; if so, when a decision will be made on this application; the number of buses to which the application applied; whether any condition will attach to the licence, requiring the operator to provide an all-year round service; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department has received no application to operate services in Galway in 1997 from the company named by the Deputy. If any such application is received, it will be considered strictly in accordance with the terms of the Road Transport Act, 1932 and appropriate conditions will be attached.
