Vol. 476 No. 3

Written Answers. - School Heating System.

Noel Ahern

Question:

118 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Education her views on the need for a replacement of the heating system in a school (details supplied) in Dublin 9 in view of possible damage to the building if work is not done soon and the concerns of parents and school authorities; if a 100 per cent grant will be provided; and if provision is made or can be arranged in 1997 expenditure. [7123/97]

My Department has received a request for grant assistance towards the cost of a new heating system at the school to which the Deputy refers. This matter is currently under consideration in my Department and the school management will be notified when a decision has been taken. It is not possible at this stage to state when grant assistance will be made available for this project. However, should grant assistance be provided, the level of grant assistance will be 85 per cent of the cost of the work involved.
