Vol. 476 No. 3

Written Answers. - Green Pound Revaluation.

Joe Walsh

Question:

159 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry whether the full Exchequer contribution provided for under EU regulations will be paid to livestock, dairy, grain and sugar beet farmers in respect of the losses arising from the revaluation of the Irish green pound; and if so, when these payments will be made. [7056/97]

The draft regulation providing for EU and national compensation for farmers as a result of recent revaluations of the Irish green pound has not yet been approved by the Council of Ministers. At this stage, no decision has been taken to pay national funding.
