173 Mr. Nolan asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications if he will instruct Bord Gáis to extend the supply of natural gas to Bagnelstown and Tullow, County Carlow; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6953/97]
Bord Gáis has informed me that initial surveys of these areas indicate that there is insufficient demand currently available for an extension of the gas network to be commercially viable. However, the load potential of both of these areas will be re-examined later this year and the situation will be reassessed at that stage.
