I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Ó Cuív — the need to ensure that alternative training and employment is obtained for the workers who were laid off recently from the Farah plant in Galway and that a special task force be set up to oversee this work; (2) Deputy Molloy — the use of inferior UK reinforced steel which is being dumped on the Irish market and is being used extensively in farm buildings grant-aided by the Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry; (3) Deputy Callely — the need to extend the recently announced package of incentives for job creation outside the Dublin area to Dublin and in particular to areas of high unemployment within Dublin; (4) Deputy Sargent — the need to meet Fingal County Council, and various representative bodies to establish a properly resourced harbour authority for Skerries and Balbriggan prior to vesting the two harbours in Fingal County Council; (5) Deputy Quill — the need to reconsider the decision not to sanction a shared home, school and community liaison teacher for Scoil Mhuire, Fatima primary school, North Monastery, Cork; (6) Deputy Seán Ryan — the effects of phasing out duty free facilities in 1999 and the need for the Government to reactivate this issue within the EU; (7) Deputy Nealon — the progress to date of the rural renewal pilot scheme for the provision of public services being run by the Department of the Taoiseach in the Geevagh area of County Sligo; (8) Deputy Hugh Byrne — the serious risk to public health posed by dumping fallen animals and specified risk material resulting from the collapse of a cost effective rendering system; (9) Deputy Michael Ahern — the crisis in the school orthodontic programme in the Cork region due to a severe shortage of orthodontic staff; (10) Deputy Séamus Brennan — the serious situation now pertaining at Team Aer Lingus with the risk to business and jobs and the need for a Government intervention today in the matter; (11) Deputy Tom Kitt — the need for the Labour Court to make one final attempt to resolve the industrial dispute at Team Aer Lingus; (12) Deputy Theresa Ahearn — the exclusion of Irish medical students in the Royal College of Surgeons from the free tuition fees scheme; the injustice to these students and their families and the immediate need for the inclusion of the college in the free fee scheme as the college is not part of the CAO system.
