Bodies which nominate persons for appointment to the boards of State bodies under the aegis of my Department have been informed of the Government's objective of achieving a minimum of 40 per cent of both men and women on the boards of State bodies and have been requested to ensure that the Government decision is taken into account when considering the question of nominations.
