Vol. 476 No. 4

Written Answers. - Departmental Safety Policy.

Eric J. Byrne

Question:

149 Mr. E. Byrne asked the Minister for Defence whether his Department has a safety statement and a designated safety officer. [7212/97]

A safety statement and designated safety officers are in place for all offices of the Department of Defence. Safety requirements are also met in relation to bodies under the aegis of the Department, i.e., the office of Coiste an Asgard is located within the Department's Parkgate offices which are catered for in the Department's own safety statement provisions and the Army Pensions Board is based at St. Bricin's Military Hospital which is catered for by the relevant military safety statement for that post. Safety statements are also in place throughout the Defence Forces.
