Question:

35 Mr. Nealon asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs the commercial and non-commercial State-sponsored bodies under the aegis of his Department; and the year of establishment in each case. [7259/97]

There are five non-commercial bodies which come under the aegis of the Department of Foreign Affairs. Those bodies and their years of establishment are as follows:

Name of State Body

Year of establishment

Agency for Personal Service Overseas

1973

Cultural Relations Committee

1949

Irish Aid Advisory Committee

1993

National Committee for Development Education

1994

The Refugee Agency

1991

The only non-commercial State body which comes under the aegis of the Office of the Tánaiste is the National Economic and Social Forum which was establishment in 1993.
There are no commercial State-sponsored bodies which come under the aegis of either the Department of Foreign Affairs or the Office of the Tánaiste.
