125 Mr. N. Treacy asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in sanctioning a project (details supplied) in County Galway; the date on which this will be done; the amount of money to be allocated for the project; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7341/97]

Galway County Council was given approval in July 1996 to seek tenders for a new fire station in Gort. The next stage in the process requires the council to submit a recommended tender to my Department for approval. This has not yet been done.
