Vol. 476 No. 5

Written Answers - Flood Relief.

Gerard C. Connolly

Question:

144 Mr. Connolly asked the Minister for the Environment when he will make funds available to relieve the problem of severe flooding in the Rossmore View Estate, Killeshin, County Laois, which has been a problem in recent years. [7722/97]

Proposals for this work, at an estimated cost of £180,000, have been submitted to my Department. It will in future be a matter for county councils to decide on funding for small water and sewerage projects such as this under the new measures being introduced for the devolution of responsibility for such schemes.
