Vol. 476 No. 5

Written Answers - Teacher Appointments.

Willie O'Dea

Question:

155 Mr. O'Dea asked the Minister for Education the representations, if any, she has received from a school (details supplied) in County Limerick in relation to retaining a junior teacher for the current academic year; and if she will sympathetically consider this request in view of the special circumstances of the case. [7395/97]

I can confirm that representations have been received from the chairperson of the board of management of the school to which the Deputy refers seeking the retention of the existing staffing allocation at the school for the 1997-98 school year. The matter is currently being examined. As soon as a decision has been made, officials of my Department will correspond directly with the board of management in the matter.
