Before coming to the Order of Business I propose to deal with a request under Standing Order 31 from Deputy Harney. I call on her to state the matter of which she has given notice.
Request to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.
I seek to raise as a matter of public concern the circumstances whereby a woman infected with hepatitis C was requested to donate blood by the Blood Transfusion Service Board in December 1996.
Having considered the matter fully I do not consider it to be one contemplated by the Standing Order. Therefore, I cannot grant leave to move the motion. Members will appreciate that a debate will take place on this matter tomorrow.
