113 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Education the total cost of non-civil servants and other such staff attached to her office for each of the years 1980, 1988, 1990, 1995 and 1996; and the estimated cost for 1997. [7852/97]

The total salary costs for the non-civil servant and other such staff attached to my office for the years 1980, 1988, 1990, 1995, 1996 and the estimated costs for 1997 are contained in the following table:

Salary cost is the main component of the cost of the staff in question. It is not feasible to realistically apportion accommodation and incidental expenses to individuals as much of the data is not recorded on a specific personal basis.
