Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Martin — the need to guarantee to both junior certificate and leaving certificate examination students that this year's State examinations will not be jeopardised by the ongoing industrial relations dispute in the examinations branch of the Department of Education; (2) Deputy Seán Ryan — the effects of the phasing out of duty free facilities in 1999 and the need for the Government to reactivate this issue within the EU; (3) Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív — the urgent need to allocate funding towards the refurbishment and extension of Colinamuck School, Colinamuck, Roscahaill, County Galway; (4) Deputy Joe Walsh — the provision of additional protection for Irish trawlers and their crews on the fishing grounds off the south west coast; (5) Deputy Frances Fitzgerald — the level of pesticides in fruit and vegetables in Ireland.

The matters raised by Deputies Seán Ryan, Éamon Ó Cuív, Frances Fitzgerald and Joe Walsh have been selected for discussion.
