Vol. 476 No. 7

Written Answers. - Departmental Staff.

Ivor Callely

Question:

172 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform the persons appointed by him at his Department as programme managers, advisers, assistants or back-up staff, either in his Department or in constituency offices; the annual remuneration paid to these staff; the names of individuals, groups or companies which have undertaken or have been approved to undertake full-time, part-time or casual consultancies, reviews, examinations, analyses or any public relations service on his behalf at his Department; and the full costs in respect of these to his Department. [8007/97]

The information sought by the Deputy in relation to staff appointed by me was provided in reply to Question No. 77 of 27 June 1995, Official Report, Volume 455, columns 108-110. The current annual salary of relevant staff in my Department has increased by approximately £1,500 over the figure supplied in response to Question No. 33 of 19 February 1997, Official Report, Volume 475, column 437.

The information requested in relation to consultancies, reviews, examinations, analyses and public relations services is contained in my replies to Questions Nos. 130 and 132 of 21 May 1996, Official Report, Volume 465, columns 1592-1594; Question No. 83 of 19 December 1996, Official Report, Volume 473, columns 755-756; Question No. 135 of 28 January 1997, Official Report, Volume 473, columns 1745-1747; and Question No. 33 of 19 February 1997, Official Report, Volume 475, column 437. However, it should be noted that the total paid to date to Destination Ireland in respect of services provided in connection with the organisation of two international conferences in 1996 has increased to £20,320.
