Question:175 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform the number of personnel working in his office on a non-established basis; and the number of such personnel who have unlimited use of mobile telephones which are charged to or reimbursed by his Department. [8284/97]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 169 and 175 together.
Information on the number of staff employed in my office on a non-established basis has already been furnished in reply to Question No. 61 of 13 March 1997. No staff have unmonitored use of mobile telephones. In this regard I refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 91 of 9 May 1996, Official Report, Volume 465, Col. 498.
The cost to my Department in respect of the use of mobile telephones, including those for my own use, amounted to £6,525.09 in 1996. I estimate a similar figure of expenditure for 1997.
