238 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Education the number of vacancies for full-time teachers in each of the years from 1994-96 in national schools in Inishowen, County Donegal; the time it has taken to fill those posts which were filled since 1994; and the time current vacancies have been awaiting a replacement; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The appointment of staff to primary schools is the responsibility of the board of management of each individual school. Accordingly, information concerning the number of vacancies for permanent teachers in schools in Inishowen, and the length of time that posts have remained unfilled, is not readily available with in my Department.
