Question:276 Ms Keogh asked the Minister for Education whether Rathcabbin national school, Roscrea, County Tipperary, will remain a four teacher school; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [8221/97]

The staffing of a national school for a particular year is determined by its enrolment on 30 September of the previous school year. The Enrolment of Rathcabbin national school on 30 September 1996 was 88 pupils.
Final decisions have not yet been made on the staffing schedule for the 1997-98 school year. In the circumstances, it is not possible at this stage to say whether Rathcabbin national school will remain a four teacher school.
