Vol. 476 No. 7

Written Answers. - Prisons and Courts Boards.

Liam Fitzgerald

Question:

306 Mr. L. Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Justice the steps, if any, that have been taken to facilitate communications and co-operation between the proposed independent prisons board and the Independent Courts Board; and if either body has consulted with the other on issues of mutual concern. [7901/97]

As the independent agencies referred to by the Deputy have not yet been established the issue of consultation between them does not arise at this stage. In the establishment of these agencies the question of appropriate communication and co-operation arrangements will be addressed.
