Vol. 476 No. 7

Written Answers. - Court Sittings.

Mary Coughlan

Question:

315 Miss Coughlan asked the Minister for Justice whether Ballyshannon, County Donegal, is listed as a Circuit Court venue; and the number of adjournments of District and Circuit Court cases in County Donegal due to the closure of some Circuit Court venues. [8119/97]

I can inform the Deputy that Ballyshannon is not listed as a venue for sittings of the Circuit Court nor have there been any closures of Circuit Court venues in County Donegal in the last ten years.

Sittings of the Circuit Court in Donegal are held in Letterkenny, Buncrana and Donegal Town and all of these venues are still in operation. Thus there have been no adjournments of District and Circuit Court cases in recent years due to the closure of Circuit Court venues in County Donegal.
