Vol. 476 No. 7

Written Answers. - Garda Stations.

Noel Ahern

Question:

318 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Justice the current position on the plans to build a new Garda station in Ballymun, Dublin 11; if a new site has been acquired; the progress, if any, made on plans; if provision has been included in the 1997 Estimates in this regard; the reason for the delay; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [8177/97]

The Office of Public Works is currently seeking a suitable site in the area on which to build a new Garda station for Ballymun. It is not possible to say at this stage when the project will commence but it will be progressed as quickly as possible having regard to overall priorities and the availability of finance.
