Vol. 476 No. 7

Written Answers. - PRSI Refund Scheme.

Michael Ring

Question:

333 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of people entering insurable employment after the age of 56 who have availed of the PRSI refund scheme in each of the years from 1990 to date; and the numbers for each year. [7980/97]

A self-employed person who enters social insurance for the first time after age 56 can claim a refund of the pension element of their social insurance contribution at reaching age 66 provided they have no entitlement to either a contributory or non-contributory old age pension.

412

1994
