Question:

397 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the number of personnel working in his office on a non-established basis; and the number of such personnel who have unlimited use of mobile telephones which are charged to or reimbursed by his Department. [8279/97]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 370 and 397 together.

The total cost for mobile phones in my Department for 1996 was £62,361. The estimated cost for 1997 is approximately £75,000. Mobile phones are provided for official use only.

A total of four personnel work in my office on a non-established basis and two of these have been allocated a mobile phone each for official use.
