At the invitation of Aer Rianta, I travelled to Moscow on Saturday 15 March 1997 to review the parade on 16 March in Moscow. During my stay, I undertook meetings with the Russian Minister for Transport, the Head of the Federal Air Service, the Head of Aerflot and a visit to an Irish communications company. I returned to Dublin on Tuesday 18 March 1997. I was accompanied to Moscow by my wife, programme manager, personal secretary and an assistant secretary. The cost of the flight and hotel were borne by Aer Rianta.

Minister of State, Deputy Stagg, reviewed the parades in Maynooth and Kilcock, County Kildare on Saint Patrick's Day and Minister of State, Deputy Doyle attended events in her constituency.
