Vol. 476 No. 7

Written Answers. - Irish Red Cross Society.

Michael McDowell

Question:

420 Mr. M. McDowell asked the Minister for Defence if his attention has been drawn to the poor attendance record of Government nominees at the Central Council Meeting of the Irish Red Cross on Saturday, 8 March 1997; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8118/97]

The Irish Red Cross Society is an autonomous body with full powers to manage and administer its affairs through its governing body, the central council.

Attendance at particular meetings is a matter for the society.
