Vol. 476 No. 7

Written Answers. - Ministerial Appointments

Ivor Callely

Question:

58 Mr. Callely asked the Taoiseach the appointments made by him to State boards and State agencies under the aegis of his Department since he took office. [8048/97]

The information requested by the Deputy is contained in my replies to Parliamentary Questions No. 83 of 22 January 1997, No. 67 of 25 June 1996 and No. 109 of 20 February 1996. The situation remains unchanged since then except in the case of the National Statistics board. The new National Statistics Board, on which eight people serve, was appointed on 17 February 1997. Each of the members will serve a two year period. The following appointments were made to the new board: Professor Frances Ruane (Chairperson); Ms Marian Harkin; Ms Paula Carey; Mr. Ciarán Dolan; Mr. Jim O'Leary; Mr. David Doyle; Mr. Dermot McCarthy; and Mr. Donal Murphy.
