Question:130 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for the Environment the current position in relation to the extension to and the upgrading of a group water scheme (details supplied) in County Mayo. [8489/97]
Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.
As already announced, responsibility for the administration of the group schemes programme is being devolved to the local authorities, subject to existing commitments on foot of approvals issued by my Department. Where schemes have been approved, including the Tallaghanduff-Bawn scheme, the local authority will allocate grants as soon as possible.

Question:131 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for the Environment when grant assistance will be given to a group water scheme (details supplied) in County Sligo. [8490/97]
There is no record in my Department of an application for a group water scheme at this location.
As already announced, responsibility for the administration of the group schemes programme is being devolved to the local authorities subject to existing commitments on foot of approvals issued by my Department. Where schemes have not yet been approved, as in this case, it will in future be a matter for the relevant local authorities to decide on grant applications.
