Question:

231 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the number of purebred deer which have been registered in Ireland; the body which is responsible for registering purebred deer; the body which issues the certificates for purebred deer; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8609/97]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 65 and 231 together.

My Department has no responsibility for the registering of purebred deer, nor is there any organisation affiliated to the Department which is charged with this task.
