Vol. 477 No. 1

Written Answers. - Mobile Telephones.

Ivor Callely

Question:

99 Mr. Calley asked the Minister for Finance the total cost of mobile telephones and their use for the year ending 1996 for personnel working in his Department; and the estimated costs for 1997. [8540/97]

The total cost of mobile telephone to my Department in 1996 was £24,223.52. This figure includes rental, airtime and purchase costs. Mobile telephones are made available to personnel in the Department as required. While it is difficult to estimate the costs for 1997, I expect total costs to be lower this year given the particularly high costs in 1996 associated with the Irish Presidency of the EU.
